Maddy Gordon is a multi-disciplinary artist currently based in St. Catharines, Ontario. While being open to working with a variety of mediums, she finds particular interest in photography, both digital and analog, along with graphite and charcoal. She finds inspiration in all things organic, whether that be elements from the natural environment or the human form. 

 

Maddy creates abstract, surreal, and representational self-portraits to explore her relationship to her body, as well as her sense of place and time. She is also interested in how these varying approaches to self-portraiture can function as tools for reclamation and societal critique.

 

Considering how organic forms contort, mold and blend into the spaces they are in, Maddy uses her art as a means to navigate her memories and experiences and movement through the world, each work acting as a testament to her personal journey and self-discovery.
